I totally agree. After spending over an hour on the phone and online with support there was no resolution.
He tried everything but there is no way to categorize images and documents in the Notes and Attachments section.
I upload 30 to 40 items that need to be listed by in each contact. I tried dragging in a folder but it would not accept it.
I will need to create a duplicate record in the library for each contact.
Looks like this has been asked for several months, is there a solution coming soon?
Why is there no response to anyone? Is this just a dead link?

The AppExchange app Folderize has just added a feature to solve this. In other words, a folder structure for record-related documents. It doesn't use the notes/attachments section but rather it opens a separate view for the folders. Documents you put in folders inherit sharing from the record, and also are are stored in the Files object as usual.
